Bitcoin Talk – one of the largest and, most importantly, international forums where you can find absolutely all the information about Bitcoins. Here you can safely communicate with miners from different parts of the world, read about the most favorable offers from cranes or cloud mining sites, learn the principles of doubling and choose the most reliable services, communicate in “non-stop”mode.


BitcoinTalk is a message board where people interested in the technical details and the development of Bitcoin software can talk to each other. The forum also has places for people who are interested in bitcoin mining, in trading with bitcoin, and in the economics of Bitcoin.


Introduction to – Bitcoin Weekly Show

Before the creation of the current BitcoinTalk Forum, Satoshi used a SourceForge forum, which is lost. When Sirius provided hosting, the forum was moved to Satoshi made several custom modifications to the forum software and theme.

  • I left the admin account set to the original SMF theme so if I somehow completely wedge the custom theme I can still get in to fix it.

  • I’ve got a neat little 12×12 coin image to replace those pip stars with. Should look nice. Also some nice button images to try.

  • The registration page has “hide your e-mail address” unchecked by default. I must fix that in php before we can open up.

  • The Announcements forum is currently moderator access only.

The forum was at some point moved to The domain name was also transferred from Satoshi to Sirius.

In July, 2011 the forum was moved to in order to make it explicitly unofficial. The “forum” link on the homepage was made to simply return the Google search results for the search terms “bitcoin forums”. This was followed by Bitcoin Community members, very much in bitcoin’s spirit of decentralisation, creating a number of alternative forums offering different moderatorial policies and using different software platforms. None of these alternative forums have yet reached the size of Bitcoin Talk.

Later, the “forum” link was simply removed, further distancing Bitcoin Talk from the official As of April 21, 2012, Bitcoin Talk remains the first search result on Google thanks to its high page rank.

On July 22, 2012, Bitcoin Talk reached its one millionth post.


The creators of the forum took care to help beginners in the field of Bitcoin generation to understand the basic rules and principles, collecting an extensive “knowledge base”. In the FAQ section you can find information:

  • About Bitcoins in General and methods of their generation.
  • On the economic aspect of cryptocurrency.
  • On the network settings and technical problems that may arise in the process of working with the site and programs for the generation of Bitcoins.

Also, users who do not find answers to questions in the FAQ section and in different branches of the site can ask their moderator Bitcointalk.


In addition to the General rules applicable to all branches of the forum. The “unofficial list of official rules” contains a complete list of prohibited actions for users of the resource.

A list of key prohibitions:

  • You can’t be obscene.
  • Offtopic is forbidden, to create a blank topic.
  • You can not create threads asking for the collection of money and not recommended to spam referral links to different sites.

Information resource Bitcointalk has one feature. The newcomers forum can’t create new topics, but also have the right to write in the section “Newcomers”. In principle, in the branch you can find answers to any questions about Bitcoins and sites of their earnings and storage. In the section constantly come experienced users of the service and willing to give detailed answers to adequate questions.

Users can write any of the sections of the forum. Given that the forum is international, it is easy to find sections in Indian, Italian, French, Chinese and other languages. By the way, if you study foreign languages and do mining – then it will be an excellent opportunity for language practice.
