BitcoinWiki:Privacy policy
BitcoinWiki is a public reference website. This policy describes the information the site may process when you read or administer the wiki.
Information processed
- Web and security logs may contain an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referrer, and diagnostic data.
- Essential cookies may be used for login, security, session continuity, and interface preferences.
- For signed-in editors, account identifiers and public revision history are processed. Published edits can display the editor name and revision time permanently.
Public reading does not require an account. Public account registration and anonymous editing are currently disabled.
Why it is processed
Information is used to deliver the site, protect accounts and infrastructure, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, preserve revision history, and comply with applicable obligations. Hosting, network, and security providers may process limited technical data while providing those services.
Retention and choices
Operational and security data is retained only as needed for those purposes and for recovery or legal requirements. You can block non-essential browser storage, but blocking essential session cookies can prevent login or preferences from working. External websites linked from BitcoinWiki have their own privacy practices.
For a privacy request, contact the site operator through the administrative contact associated with bitcoinwiki.org and identify the relevant account, page, or request. Do not publish sensitive personal information on wiki pages.
