Bitzeny
BitZeny (ZNY) is a decentralized cryptocurrency based on Bitcoin, originally developed by a Japanese engineer. It is designed to be mineable using CPUs equipped in ordinary PCs by adopting the Yescrypt hashing algorithm and the difficulty controlling mechanism.

History
The development was originally started by a Japanese engineer in November 2014 (reference in Japanese: [1]). The original developer had been offline since only a month after it was released, but came back online on December 2017. While the original developer had kept silent, voluntary people gathered as a community to work on adapting the wallet and miner programs to newer versions of bitcoin-based source codes, building an online forum[2], and advertising the coin.
The value has been less than 0.1 USD/ZNY since its release, but it increased to around 0.2 USD/ZNY on December 2017 with the maximum of 0.43 USD/ZNY on December 6th, 2017.
Yescript
Yescript is a hashing algorithm built with an aim to be GPU-unfriendly by design. The basic idea is to issue many random accesses to the memory so that SIMD processors such as GPUs cannot calculate hashes efficiently. A GPU implementation to calculate Yescript is reported to be 7.3X slower than a CPU implementation (700 hashes/s with AMD Radeon R9 280X vs. 5.1K hashes/s with Core i7 5820K).[3] This GPU-unfriendliness gives BitZeny a unique characteristics; it is one of a few alt-coins that can be mined a reasonable amount by CPUs. It is suitable for the described by Satoshi Nakamoto in his whitepaper. [4]
