Scolocoin (SCOL) is the first cryptocurrency in Colombia to use Proof-of-stake mining (PoS). Scolocoin technology is based on Bitcoin, a form of electronic cash that is purely P2P and allows us to send online payments directly between the parties in a peer-to-peer network.

This crypto currency is a social project that supports solidarity projects, NGOs, projects from natural persons. Genesis block

From the beginning of the project, Scolcoin team thought about a cryptocurrency that was based on the ecological, that was sustainable and did not create more energy consumption. In other words, it could make a contribution to the environment (Energy saving).

The Scrypt Algorithm is a Bitcoin fork, a Hybrid between the PoW – PoS systems, which has these two phases, allowing a short PoW of 10,000 blocks to quickly enter to PoS, reaching the energy saving system, where the currency does not require powerful equipment to be mined

PoS Technician: When a transaction starts, the transaction data is adjusted to a block with a maximum capacity of 1 megabyte, and then it is duplicated in multiple computers or nodes in the network.The nodes are the administrative body of the blockchain and verify the legitimacy of the transactions in each block. To carry out the verification step, the nodes or miners would need to solve a computational puzzle, known as proof of the work problem. The first miner to decipher every block transaction problem receives a coin. This work is based on bet mode. Proof of Stake (PoS) would be a way to incentivize the owners.
