The Bitcoin address bc1qazcm763858nkj2dj986etajv6wquslv8uxwczt is a native SegWit pay-to-witness-public-key-hash (P2WPKH) address associated through on-chain research with the recovery of bitcoin stolen from Bitfinex in 2016. At block 964,405 on 28 August 2026, it held 94,643.48825519 BTC and ranked sixth among individual Bitcoin addresses.[1][2]
On-chain record
The address first received funds on 1 February 2022. Scorechain reported that 94,643.2985 BTC connected with the Bitfinex theft moved to the then-unknown address in 25 transactions that day.[3] Public explorer data reviewed on 29 August 2026 showed no outgoing spend from the address; later small incoming transfers increased its displayed balance.[4]
Recovery association
On 8 February 2022, the United States Department of Justice announced the court-authorized seizure of more than 94,000 BTC allegedly connected with laundering proceeds from the 2016 Bitfinex theft.[5] The amount and timing correspond to the transfer documented by Scorechain, but the Justice Department release does not name bc1qazcm….
The connection is therefore a documented on-chain association rather than an official government disclosure of the receiving address. It does not establish the current controller or the beneficial ownership of every later incoming output.
